History

The Davis Legacy Scholarship Foundation was founded in 1964 by Rev. Kenneth L. Davis, Sr, a Wichita, KS pastor, who had a passion for music and the mindset of a visionary. Rev. Davis, Sr. believed in helping others to realize their true potential given the right opportunity, great things could be accomplished. Driven by a passion for education and a commitment to nurturing potential, Rev. Davis Sr., embarked on a journey to create opportunities for deserving students.

Over the decades, his dedication has resulted in the DLSF being able to provide hundreds of scholarships to deserving graduates, leaving an indelible mark on the academic pursuits and lives of countless individuals.

Rev. Davis, Sr.'s enduring legacy with the DLSF is a testament to his unwavering belief in the power of education and the transformative impact it can have on the lives of aspiring scholars.

The Davis Legacy Scholarship Foundation is a nonprofit organization that passionately believes in fostering an educated society. We believe that education is the foundation of a thriving democracy. Our mission is to empower high school graduates to pursue postsecondary education. Our goal is to help break down financial barriers that may hinder educational aspirations.

At the heart of the Davis Legacy Foundation lies the belief that higher education serves as a powerful catalyst for change in the lives of high school graduates. We envision a community that values educational achievement and ensures that every individual, regardless of economic circumstances, has access to positive educational outcomes. In this vision, no doors are closed due to financial constraints, and postsecondary education becomes a universal opportunity for those with the potential to succeed.
